BATWOMAN 3.4

 

RECAP - BATWOMAN  3.4:  "Antifreeze"  

Piggybacking on last episode, where we had some band of thugs kidnap the recently thawed out Nora Fries and her sister Dee in order to get info on how to use Mr. Freeze's cryochamber, but Batwoman busted that plan up, but they managed to make off with Victor's notes.  We also see Luke upset with Mary over the fact that she snitched on him about taking the safety measures out of the Batwing suit.  And for Mary herself, she got dragged away from what appears to be Ivy's vines at the end of the episode, and for Alice---her hallucinations are getting worse, because now she thinks the nanobites are taking over her body.  On top of ALL of this---Ryan is now dealing with her mother, Jada Jet, and just got to meet her brother, Marquis.  

We meet a mysterious man in a room who has heat lamps on someone he's had frozen, trying to gauge the experiment with the freezing technique with one of Victor's canisters of liquid nitrogen.  Sadly, the person he froze ends up breaking apart upon melting, and dies.  His experiment with reanimation has failed.  But he seems undaunted.

Mary is on a park bench in Gotham Park, and is awakened after the vines dissipate.  And she's bewildered at what happened.  While she's gathering herself, Ryan is now been tagged by a magazine for their "30 Under 30" List as a rising star in the business world.  And Luke warns her to be careful and weary about running into her brother, due to the fact that Jada will take that as crossing a line, and might go after Wayne Enterprises.  Sophie is there to help back her up, as well as support her sister Jordan, who's giving a speech about saving the community.  She goes over the speech with Sophie, and Sophie fesses up about having dreams about Ryan, so Jordan is trying to encourage Sophie to pursue Ryan, and Sophie is just trying to table the convo for now.  Ryan herself has to deal with her brother coming to visit, and she's doing all SHE can to avoid him.  He wants to know his sister, and she is trying to protect Wayne from the wrath of Jada.  So, she does what SHE can to blow him off.  

Things go south at the event when a guy comes up to Jordan and drugs her, dragging her off.  So, Sophie and Ryan begin the search for her, as Ryan has to also give a speech about Wayne's business standing at this gala.  Marquis is also looking to help out.  After not being able to find her, and Luke scouring the hotel for her, Marquis is the one who lets them know that she was seen with some guy going up to one of the rooms.  Turns out that Jordan was given the same treatment as the person at the beginning of the episode.   She is frozen in place, and there are the heat lamps.  They know they need to get her to Mary immediately.

Mary herself tried to discuss her night in Gotham Park with everyone, but they're busy...though Ryan DOES want to hear what happened, but she had to get ready for the gala.  Her sister, Alice, however, is not doing so well, as she hallucinates one of the guards giving her letters from her dad, and making fun of her.  She ends up killing him, but it's only her imagination.  She needs to see Montoya, and then heads to Mary's clinic.  She says she's having issues (moreso than normal), and she hands Mary a phone, and to have her call Montoya--because she has a deal with the Bat Team, and...like it or not...they have to work with her.  

Jada is plotting, because she gets ahold of Vesper Fairchild, and says she has a scoop for her.  This is not good news for Ryan, as we later find out. 

They get Jordan to Mary's clinic, and Sophie wants to know why this happened.  It turns out that Jordan was looking into the Black Glove Gang, and was going to expose them at the gala, and was possibly the reason why she was taken and nearly killed.  BUT, they also have a bigger problem:  the cryo-canister is still out there, and they're using it.  They need to find it before someone else in Jordan's group dies, because one victim from her group has already been killed for this.  So, Sophie grabs Alice, and they go investigate Jordan's apartment, while Ryan has to worry not only about Jordan, but now has a bigger issue:  a news story that breaks that Wayne Enterprises' CEO has funneled funds to secret accounts, and now they're being investigated.  What Luke and Ryan realizes, is that it's their "Bat Budget" that got exposed, and they have to find a way to answer for that before the company goes under.  She knows Jada is behind it. 

Alice and Sophie are searching Jordan's apartment for information she had about the Black Glove Group, and Alice then hallucinates about the guard again, but she shakes it off enough to find a clue in the air vent in Jordan's apartment, which is Victor's notes.  And then the Black Glove group shows up looking for the notes, Alice wonders if they're real.  She and Sophie TRY to fight them off, but both are knocked out and tied up in chairs to each other, with books lined up to them, with a trap to set them on fire.  As the fire sets off, and they're trying to escape...Batwoman busts in, and uses the cryo tank to freeze the fire before they get fried.  

Mary had been racing to try and keep Jordan cold enough to be able to save her life, but she was thawing out.  Luke is giving her some static about saving her, and Mary is doing what she can...but then looks at the plants in her clinic, and realizes that they hold the key to save her.  Jordan is saved, and Sophie breathes some relief.  As for Black Glove, Sophie is NOT going to be shut out in taking them down.  So, Alice offers her help, but says she needs to be someplace AWAY from Arkham...because Mary and Ryan feel that whatever they're giving her in Arkham is making her worse.  So, Alice agrees to hang with Sophie...much to Sophie's dismay.  

As for Ryan, her advisers and Luke feel that she'll need to step down to save Wayne, though they did come up with the excuse (no doubt getting help from Lyla and Diggle), about Wayne using funds for a secret ARGUS contract.  But if Ryan stays in charge, she'll expose the company, and leave it to takeover....which is what Jada wants.  Luke does NOT want to lose the company, and Ryan says she will fight.  She then goes to her brother, and she reaches out to see if he's still willing to work to take dear old Mom down.  He says he's signed so many documents, but Jada has never allowed him to really get a feel for the business.  So, he's on board. 

As for Jada....the head guy for the Black Glove shows up in her office, offering her the weapon he'd helped put together to give her the chance to freeze and un-freeze anyone she wants.  She inquires just what he did to perfect the weapon, and he says that was their deal:  she got what she wanted, and didn't ask questions.  She just wants to keep herself ethically clear.  But...she also feels it's time for her son to take a "leave of absence".

It looks like Jada is dealing dirty, as she goes after Ryan from a business aspect this episode, and we are introduced to this Black Glove group that has been using Victor Fries' cryo-tech to develop a new weapon to freeze and un-freeze a person, and had to experiment to get it right along the way.  But once they did, they delivered this weapon to Jada, who has sinister plans for her son.  Something tells me Jada does NOT like sharing, and really doesn't care much for her kids.  She IS a mega bitch, and I look forward to when Ryan takes her down....especially if she does it as Batwoman.  I feel THAT confrontation is coming fairly soon.  

Mary using a little botany knowledge to help save Jordan was the key to save the day, but she still feels lost in the shuffle, as she wanted to relay her night in Gotham Park, but everyone was busy.  Especially Ryan.  Whatever happened with Mary in that park, I have a feeling it will lead to something major with her down the road...especially once Poison Ivy enters the scene.  We DO see that Luke reinstalled the safety measures, thus getting his A.I. dad back---and he realizes that he's not ready to wear the suit until he gets over this PTSD that's been plaguing him.  

And hey...whatever it is that's bothering Alice, seems to be stemming from whatever they're giving her at Arkham, so I'll be curious to see what's been in THAT little cocktail to amp up HER paranoia.  And how will her and Sophie function as roommates?  And is Sophie starting to have the hots for Ryan?!  Amazing how much communication between two people can lead to some attraction....but does Ryan feel the same way?  Something I'm also curious about is THAT growing relationship.

DC'S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW 7.4

 

RECAP - DC'S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW  7.4:  "Speakeasy Does It" 

Took awhile, but I FINALLY managed to get the current title card for the show being used currently, while our merry band of time travellers are stuck in 1925.  And this week, we get to see the team continue their trek to New York to meet up with the mysterious Dr. Gwyn Davies to help them get back home, all the while, we have our trio of ladies--Astra, Spooner, and Gideon--are hot on their trail to try and stop them before they reach New York....and essentially save their lives.  But first off---the team has a pit stop in Chicago, where they have to make some quick bread to get back out on the road, because their car broke down.  

This is where we meet up with the team this week, as they're trying to lay low from enemies, and a brand new Hoover-Bot that's after them.  They know that Ava and Sara need to disguise themselves before they're discovered, and find their way into a wig shop, where the proprietor promptly dismisses Zari because of her race, but they end up forking over all their cash in order to get the wigs in order for the girls to hide.  The Bullet Blondes, now incognito, now have to find a place to lay low, and they manage to find a guy named Eddie---who runs a speakeasy, and they manage to get in.  Turns out, Eddie's speakeasy is a pretty inclusive place, where everyone from all walks of life are allowed in.  Behrad takes up the guitar and starts jamming with the band, while Zari talks to Eddie about the speakeasy, and he's well versed in her culture.  Meanwhile, Sara and Ava are trying to figure out how to make some fast cash, so they can catch the train to New York.  They realize that Eddie's liquor is a bit low, so they get the idea to help him out with some business, and just want a bit of kickback in order to get enough money to get to New York.  So, they managed to get Eddie's place going again, and he's making some dough back, and finally--the team has recouped some cash to get tickets to New York.  However...when the team is ready to take off (and they've been hiding out in the Pocket Realm, Eddie is visited by a gangster named Patrone, who's been supplying him with his alcohol, isn't happy he's been getting it elsewhere, and Eddie's place gets trashed and he gets worked over for his troubles.  

While the team is dealing with Eddie's speakeasy, our trio of ladies had to sneak aboard the train to try and catch up to the rest of the team.  They're caught, but a gal named Maude sticks up for them, and says they're a part of their group:  The Masquerladies.  She befriends our gals, and they explain that their manager isn't all that great, and Astra manages to work her con, to convince Maude and her group that she's a business manager, and that Spooner is Gideon's singing coach.  Gideon almost gives too much away about Maude, and they tell her to keep quiet about it.  Astra then helps that gals get rid of their manager, work a new contract, and then upgrade their tickets to first class.  However, they missed the connecting train to New York, and are stuck in Chicago for the time being.  The band has a show at Maude's boyfriend's club, and they can use the the help.  Spooner, however, feels there is something off about the gals.  

Eddie finds out that Sara and Ava are the Bullet Blondes, and blames them for his place getting trashed, and now he's lost his lease.  Zari, however, says she's got a plan to get him back in business, by throwing together a show that will feature the Bullet Blondes, and he'll make enough money to pay his debts.  He agrees, and Zari goes to work organizing the show, and Eddie helps pass the word around to get customers to his speakeasy.  

The boyfriend of Maude turns out to be Patrone himself, who says he's got a rep from RCA Records there tonight to hear her sing, so that he can get a record deal.  Maude is obviously in fear of him, and isn't happy that she fired her manager, and threatens her if she screws up.  Astra can't handle what's happening to her, and remembers Patrone from their time in Hell, and remembers hearing all this stories, and also says he has a deep seeded fear of spiders.  Maude is supposed to go onstage, and Astra begs her to take off, but she can't.  Gideon informs Astra that Maude does end up dead a couple of years later, and it was ruled a homicide.  Astra won't let that happen to her, and they tell her to leave, which she does.  She thanks them, and then Gideon takes her place on stage and belts out a tune, that gets the crowd happy.  Astra and Spooner convince Patrone that if he ever goes after Maude, they'll be back, and they'll ensure that he lives out his worst fear with spiders.  He gets the hint, and they save Maude's life.  They then hear that there's a show going on at a speakeasy, and it's featuring the Bullet Blondes.  The girls make a run for it to try and catch them.

Meanwhile, as Nate and Gary psychoanalyze each other:  Gary's love for being bossed around by women, and Nate in his stalled relationship with Zari 1.0, they end up having to fight off Hoover's men, as they come in to arrest the Bullet Blondes, as the gals put on quite a show.  They're making money with the crowd, and Ava and Sara end up using their acrobatic abilities and the curtains they were dancing on to tie up Hoover and keep him at bay.  As the show ends, Eddie has more than enough money to get the speakeasy back up running, and he's grateful to Zari and the team for their help.  They end up hiding out in the Pocket Realm, with the Hoover-Bot, as Gary boards the train, with the key in his pocket...carrying the team with him.  Zari 2.0 then takes off to the totem, while Zari 1.0 emerges, who has more technical experience with robots.  Sadly, for our trio of gals looking to catch up to the rest of the team....they make it to the wig shop, but they just missed them.  

We did get some minor storylines out of this episode---mostly with Nate, because his relationship with Zari 1.0 has been at a standstill for awhile...because New Zari has been the main Zari for us the past few seasons.  I am wondering that, with John gone, and Zari having to move on from him....I wonder if Zari 1.0 and Nate will break up, and we get the new Zari and Nate together.  I dunno if that will happen, but I know Nate has had VERY little character development the last couple seasons, so it'll be nice to give him some meat to chew on and move his character forward.  Gary...well...he's an alien masochist.  He loves being bossed around, and gets off on it.  So, nice to know we've learned something about HIM this week.  And we got to hear Amy Louise Pemberton belt out another tune again, showing us how extremely talented she is.  It's also been a nice show of character growth from Astra this season.  She's embraced her friends...especially Spooner...whom she has exceptional chemistry with.  Add in a humanized Gideon, and they've given us some comical moments.  But Astra's really coming into her own, and I love to see it.  We got a great number from Ava and Sara, showing the amazing chemistry and talent that Jes Macallan and Caity Lotz have with each other as well.  Behrad playing the guitar was also sweet.  Very multitalented actors on this show, who get a chance to stretch out, and dabble in some of their other talents is something I like to see.  

Now...VERY curious how there was a replacement Hoover-Bot in this episode, and I wonder just WHO in the hell is building them?  I wanna say Bishop...it's up his alley, but I guess we'll get THAT truth coming soon.  I wonder how many more episodes we get until we finally get to meet Matt Ryan's new character, Dr. Gwyn Davies.  Because I don't want this trip to drag on longer than it has...we're 4 episodes in, and there's only 13 slated for the season.  So, this story needs to kick it into gear, and get to the next phase of this story.  Outside of that...was another fun episode.

SUPERGIRL 6.18

RECAP - SUPERGIRL  6.18:  "Truth Or Consequences" 

In what is...essentially...the penultimate episode to the series finale (which will be a 2 hour tilt), we see Nyxly and Lex up their game, and take it right to the Superfriends, all the while they try to stop them from obtaining all the totems.  And we learn that decisions have consequences, as everyone around suffers at the end of this episode----except for our villainous pair. 

The engagement party for Alex and Kelly had to be put on hold---briefly---because there was an issue with Esme at school, as she had some trouble controlling her powers, as one of her classmates had been mean to her about her baking skills.  Esme was going to be involved in a baking contest, and while her moms were understanding, Alex notices the rose shaped symbol on Esme's neck.  Her and Kelly bring her to the Tower to get tested, and while they tell everyone what went on, Kara took this as a place to offer Alex advice about how to help Esme adapt, having had to do that when SHE was younger....however, Alex doesn't appreciate the fact that Kara is trying to tell her how to parent.  Alex doesn't want Esme to have to hide who and what she is like Kara had to.  She essentially tells Kara to butt out, and goes to her daughter.  

Andrea Rojas has been unrelenting since turning over a new leaf--of sorts--in regards to making Catco must read material. She's wanted the dirt on the Superfriends, and has expected William Dey to give her everything....in HER own way.  Mostly, a sensational pop piece with some juicy details.   But William has tried to do it HIS way...to be a legitimate performer.  But while HE was meeting with Otis Graves in secret, Andrea used her powers to nab Lex's journal, which exposed his feelings for Nyxly, and Andrea published it under William's name.  William berates her for it, and says that how she manages the magazine, it's as if the ends justify the means, and she's no different than Lex.  This seriously makes Andrea question herself, so she gets advice from her best friend--Lena.  Lena pretty much tells her...do you want to be that kind of person?  Both know how their personalities are, so Andrea has to make that choice. 

With his secrets exposed, Nyxly wonders about Lex, and whether or not he's trustworthy.  She can't get her crystal ball to work, and she blames Lex for it not working.  But Lex shows her his collection of stuff, and she finds and old camera that is actually the truth totem.  She uses it on Lex, and he passes the test.  So, with Lex angry enough about his secrets exposed, they plan to continue finding the love totem.  Brainy talks with those in the 31st Century about Lex and Nyxly to help the team, and he discovers that he cannot stay in the 21st Century, because he has to join the Big Brain, as told to him by a future Brainiac.  Brainy is bummed out that he can't stay with those he loves, but he has to go back, or his race will die.  Nia gets wind of this through her dream, and they have the hard talk.  It's a bummer of a chat, but Brainy tells her there's no avoiding it.  Once his mission with the Superfriends has been completed, he must return.  And Nia...like it or not...has to remain in this time. 

William brings baked goods over to the Tower, but bumps into Esme.  She tells him of her trouble at school, and he offers some great advice.  She feels a lot better.  The team eventually tracks the Lexosuits down, and they go after Nyxly and Lex.  As they fight, Nyxly opens up a portal to the Dreamworld, but Dreamer puts the kibosh for that. In the heat of the battle, Nyxly is almost hurt, and Lex saves her again, but they lose yet another totem in the process.  They escape, and the Superfriends gain a small victory.  

Back at the Tower, they go over what happened, as Supergirl has put the totems they have captured in the Fortress of Solitude.  J'onn had urged Kara to mend her fences with Alex, and they do.  They also decide that they need to take a break, so they finally have the engagement party.  William offers to babysit Esme, as she won her baking contest.  And while the team parties on, Brainy is watching with bittersweet emotions, as he knows he will have to say goodbye to his friends....and the woman he loves.  As they party on, Lex and Nyxly, who have tracked the love totem down, realize it's a part of Esme now.  So, they disable the security of the Tower, and enter.  William tells Esme to go hide and she does.  William is captured by Lex, and he says he wants to know where Esme is.  William refuses to give her up, as Nyxly goes to find her.  Lex says he's always been one step ahead of the Superfriends, and that's why he always wins.  Nyxly finds Esme, and says she's a friend, and she informs Lex that they have her.  Lex is still pissed off about his journal being posted, and ends up shooting William for his troubles.  William posts one last message to Andrea, as he dies.  

Little does the team know of what's transpired, until Kelly gets the results of Esme's test, which reveal to them that Esme is the love totem.  They get an alert that something is wrong at the Tower.  They race back, only to find Esme gone, and William has been killed.  At that same time, Andrea is in her office when she gets a video message from William...as she watches him get shot by Lex Luthor.  

This was a very intense episode, as tensions are high with our characters, and tragedy befalls William, as he sacrifices his life to try and save Esme, and to protect the Superfriends as well.  His death will be the motivation this team needs to finally take Lex and Nyxly down....plus, with them having Esme, with the love totem, it's going to get real ugly for the villains, as this series takes its final bow.   As this season moved on, William became a much more fascinating character...when he was allowed to stretch on his own.  He was a character who offered sage advice, as well as being a great reporter.  Anger will be at an all time high for the Superfriends, so I expect the battle to get nasty.  As for Andrea...well...she now sees the dire consequences of revealing Lex's diary on television.  This just incurred Lex's wrath, and because she used William's name on the article, HE was the one to take the fall for her egotistical folly.  How will she respond?  

Brainy having to leave the 21st Century for the 31st Century seems to be how his story ends.  He cannot avoid his own fate, and this is what time has laid out for him.  It tears me up to have to see him and Nia split, because this was a couple we NEVER got enough time to see develop....and it has to end.  And it seems as though we had to have one more sisterly altercation between Kara and Alex.  It seems as if that bond between them has lessened....what with Alex now about to marry Kelly...and start their family...but the fact that Kara has leaned on her best friend Lena more.  It's been the one sustained plot in this entire series:  the bond between sisters.  But we see their lives somewhat diverging, and with an unknown future for Supergirl...we can only imagine how this ends.  

We have one two hour series send off for our Girl of Steel...and no doubt that some old friends will be back to lend a helping hand in taking Lex down.  Too bad we can't get a guest appearance from Kal-El...but he's been rather busy (not sure where Supergirl's battle with Lex is taking place, time-wise, as compared to what we just watched on Superman & Lois).  But we know Jimmy will be back, as will Winn.  Does Mon-El make an appearance?  And...will we FINALLY see Cat Grant again?  If we don't....I'm gonna freakin' riot.  If ANYONE can get Supergirl to get her act together...it's Cat  Grant.

STARGIRL 2.13

RECAP - STARGIRL  2.13:  "Summer School - Chapter 13"  

We have reached the END of Summer School for the JSA and the denizens of Blue Valley, as Eclipso was about to make his final move.  The team has been torn apart, and Courtney has been trying desperately to gather them back for a final battle against the would-be Dark God.  So, what did we discover in this final confrontation between good and evil?  And what's in store for our heroes next?  

Eclipso's master plan was to bring the Shadowlands to Earth, and merge them, so that he could ascend to Godhood....but in order to do that, he needed the power of light---quite specifically:  Courtney Whitmore.  Courtney had been the one person who REALLY held her own and didn't give into Eclipso's plans to corrupt and destroy her.  Her light...her optimism...has been the one thing keeping him from gaining his self-proclaimed throne.  So, he had to lure her friends to town in order to take her light....and corrupt her....and win this battle.  It first started with Dr. McNider and Beth, as they had already been on site to confront him.  However, he managed to use Beth's parents against her...specifically using their fear of her hating them against them.  All Beth and McNider could do is watch.  Meanwhile, Jenny's nightmares have been culminating in Courtney being corrupted by Eclipso.  She awakes to Barbara by her bedside, but she says she needs to stop the team from gathering in town to face Eclipso, but Barb says it's too late.  As they go to join them, they get a ring at the door...and Barb can only say that "It's YOU."  

The team...with Shiv with them, are ready to do battle with Eclipso, and they attack, but he's still too strong, and ends up diverting them by making them face off with either themselves or someone else in their nightmares.  Shiv faces HER younger self, Wildcat has to face off against the OG, who tells her she's not good enough, and Pat has to wrestle with himself, whom also belittles him.  McNider and Beth tell them that it's just an illusion and it's not real.  Stargirl, however, continues to battle Eclipso, as Shiv then helps on a double team, but they're blasted out the window.  Beth's parents are saved by none other than the Shade, who only played dead in order to heal thanks to the Shadowlands.  Beth and Dr. Mid-Nite suit up, and tell her parents to stay put, as they head out to join the fight.  Back at the garage, Mike and Jakeem still need the help of the Thunderbolt, who's parts unknown at the moment.  Zeke can't fix S.T.R.I.P.E. without a certain part, and while Rick has tried to fix the hourglass....it still doesn't work.  But he suits up anyway, and is joining the fight.  Not long after, the Thunderbolt arrives, and Zeke finally gets to meet him, as he wonders just what in the world these kids are up to with a giant robot. 

The fight has been taken into the town, and Jakeem arrives with Thunderbolt, as Mike is inside S.T.R.I.P.E., but Eclipso ends up taking them down easily.  Rick comes to the fight, but he didn't come alone....he brought Solomon Grundy.  Grundy gets a few good shots in, but Eclipso kills him by burning a hole through the middle of him.  Eclipso grabs Pat, and begins to break his arm unless Stargirl gives into her darkness....she admits she hates Eclipso, and it's enough for him to get possession of her.  Now inside Stargirl, he's got the Cosmic Staff to control, and with the power of light AND darkness, he can now complete his goal.  Shiv feels NOW is the time to kill Courtney, and end Eclipso, but Wildcat won't let her---she says the power of light is the key.  And, right on cue, Jenny, Barbara, and Sylvester Pemberton arrive.  Sylvester then grabs the staff and tells Courtney to fight the darkness...which she does.  Stargirl recovers, and Eclipso is now faced with a large group of heroes (and a couple of villains).  Stargirl and Jenny use the staff and her power ring to blast Eclipso, while Jakeem wishes Thunderbolt to turn Eclipso into toast----which he does----literally.  The threat is over, and Eclipso is done.  Once again...Blue Valley is safe. 

In the aftermath, We see that Beth's parents are a LITTLE overexcited about her being a superhero, and Dr. McNider passes along the torch to her as the new Dr. Mid-Nite.  She also managed to find his wife....and discover he's got a 10 year old son.  Cindy catches Yolanda coming out of the church, and feels that if Yolanda gets a free pass....so does she.  She wants to join the JSA.  As for Rick...he's burying Grundy out in the woods, and Shade tells him that Grundy will return....IF you bury him in the right place.  Seems that he'll be sticking around as well.  As for Courtney---she finally finishes Summer School, and Sylvester is shacking up at the Dugans, all while teaching Courtney how to use the staff....he feels it's her time now.  As for Jakeem and Mike...a friendship is struck, and they think about forming their own team.  But things aren't QUITE so smooth....the Dugans find out they have new neighbors---as the Crocks have moved in next door....much to Pat's dismay.   

One other little tidbit we get---is that Cameron Mahkent has finished the mural of his father---and his grandparents have decided to finally tell him of his family's true nature.  

We then turn our attention back to Milwaukee...where Jenny has returned in order to pick up her search for her brother Todd.  We got back to the Helix Institute, where our resident head nurse is informing her boss about Jenny's return, and the fact that she's got powerful friends now.  She mentions Blue Valley, and how there's a litter of heroes AND villains there.  We finally meet Mister Bones, as he is intrigued by the prospect of new experimentation, and wishes to take the trip to Blue Valley, Nebraska.  

This was a FANTASTIC finale!  We got our final battle, and we FINALLY got some questions answered, and got everything set up for NEXT season.  We KNEW Shade hadn't died, but it was going to be WHEN she showed up in the finale---leave it to him to save Beth's parents.  To get Sylvester to FINALLY make his presence known was a story LONG needed of resolution, and he delivered.  He was part of the big key for helping Courtney fight through Eclipso's corruption.  And now with him sticking around for awhile, it's going to make Stargirl an even BETTER hero.  We are seeing the baton passed down to the youngsters, as Dr. McNider hands the reins over to Beth, and Sylvester is giving Courtney is seal of approval.  As for Yolanda....she's come to terms with her past, and is back for good, and Rick...despite not having any powers from the Hourglass...is still with the team.  Their bond forged through trial, tragedy, and triumph.  Mike and Jakeem has formed a fast friendship that should provide some comical moments the next season.  

Now...as for the villains---I'm REAL curious just what Cindy's play is for wanting to join the JSA?  How sincere is she?  And for the Crocks now living next door...THAT will make things more interesting, as we'll see how this formerly antagonistic sides will now co-exist in this town.  And let's not forget with Jenny back in Milwaukee looking for her brother Todd, it's going to bring Mister Bones and the Helix Institute not only after HER....but now to Blue Valley.  It's looking to be another exciting and fun season ahead.
