BATWOMAN 3.7

RECAP - BATWOMAN  3.7:  "Pick Your Poison"

And the poison has gotten DANGEROUS, as Mary has had her Poison Ivy itch to scratch---and scratch it she did in this installment, as Batwoman now faces more threats than what she can handle---and it's going to test Ryan Wilder's resolve---and that of the Bat Team, going forward.  Not only has Mary jumped to the dark side....with a little push from good ol' stepsis Alice...but now her half-brother, whom she tried to get frozen into an ice cube in order to cure him of his...homicidal tendencies...didn't like the plan, and has now taken something EXTREMELY precious from her AND the team:  Wayne Enterprises.  Things are tough all over, and it DOESN'T look like things will get better anytime soon.

First of all...let's talk about Mary.  Dr. Hamilton has been battling a bit of the Poison Ivy since her little nightcap in Gotham Park, that she's gone through a HUGE growth, if you will.  Got to develop an INCREDIBLE thirst for water, suddenly developed a SEVERE green thumb, and her clinic looked like Wild Kingdom.  And try as she might, she was NEVER able to get through to either Ryan OR Luke about her issues----until it was too late.  And this week, too late came to a huge bloom.  As Mary and Alice took off on their road trip, Alice was in dire need of ridding herself of the nanobites that has been injected into her body, thus allowing everyone to track her anywhere she goes.  She hints to dear sis that she could use a blood transplant.  We find out that Alice has that nice rare blood type---"O", baby!  So, in order to cover their tracks, the former head of the Wonderland Gang sliced herself, and started wiping her blood on several vehicles, thus causing Luke to get confused when they finally found her, but the signal was going in all different directions.  And as Batwoman and Sophie tried tracking her, they only managed to stop a guy driving his car with her blood stain on it.

Alice and Mary made their way to some roadside bar to see if they can find a lucky candidate for a blood transfusion.  So, Mary uses her newfound Ivy powers to influence the bartender and several of the patrons, while she conducted a quick blood test to find the right person for Alice's transplant.  They DID manage to find their guy, and get the transfusion completed. But...trouble looms as a cop spots them, and they have to make a break for it---in the process, Mary runs over the cop with the van.  She goes out to check on him, but Alice encourages her to forget him and get a move on....so they bail.

Now...before we get to the confrontation between our Mary Ivy and the Scarlet Crusader, we back up a bit and fill you in on Ryan's issues as she tries to help Mary.  As Sophie wakes up with her hangover, and Montoya left her a note, she gets a call from Luke, and they meet at the Batcave, where they have to track their little lost flower.  Meanwhile, Ryan and Jada set Marquis up as they pulled off a hoax meet in a parking garage, and they drug him to help him get over whatever it is the Joker did to him.  Jada also is helping Ryan with Mary, by getting a serum to help Mary get back to normal.  While her scientists are working on that, she's also prepping her son to go into the deep freeze.  However, he lures her in with his crying, and breaks free, and kills some of the other assistants in the lab.  He then takes off, telling his mother that nothing is wrong with him...he just feels free.

Things just keep getting worse for Ryan when she discovers Jada in her lab shaken up.  Jada and Sophie search for the vial for Mary, but all they find is another dead scientist.  Ryan then shows up in her office at Wayne Tower, and Marquis is there....with the vial.  Marquis says he's going to have some fun now, and that he played Ryan to get what he wants:  her resignation from Wayne, so that he can take over, and show her and their mother just what he can do.  So, Ryan is forced to give it all up for the vial to save Mary.  In the process, Marquis also calls his mother and tells him to keep her eyes glued to the tube, as he'll have a huge announcement the next day.  All this after he rouged up Luke some more when he arrived.

Luke, incapacitated, told Sophie what happened, and they both express guilt over not listening to Mary more, and pushing her away.  Also, for Sophie, her little tryst with Montoya.  They then manage to realize that Mary can't survive without her coffee.  So, tracking her gift cards, they found her at the pub.  So, Batwoman goes to confront Mary, and she tells Mary she can help her.  But Mary is just not having ANY of it....pulls some branches from under the pavement, and ensnares Batwoman, crushing the vial.  Mary and Alice take off...leaving Batwoman to try and free herself.  She gets back to the cave, and she tells Luke and Sophie that Mary refused the serum...and she's out there now...ready to cause trouble. Mary gave up on them.

The next nail in the coffin is the press conference from Marquis, talking about his plans for Wayne Enterprises, and how he's going to have some fun....which is only trouble for everyone else.  The teams' security credentials have been taken, and they cannot get into Wayne Tower....and that also means they're locked out of the Batcave, but Luke locked that down to prevent Marquis from finding it.  They do have the suit and the Batmobile.  But they're going to have to do things from scratch.  She apologizes to Luke for screwing up and losing Wayne Enterprises...but he forgives her because she did it for Mary.

And speaking of Mary...her and Alice are in a hotel, when Mary comes out....fully into Poison Ivy mode---and she catches Marquis at his press conference....and she's taking a fancy to him.

This episode was just crap hitting the fan for the Bat Team and THEN some!  Now, they're without the Cave, the equpiment IN the cave, and they're locked OUT of Wayne Tower indefinitely.  Marquis made his play, and won.  He's going to prove that he's better than his mother AND sister, as whatever plans he has for Wayne Enterprises...can only spell trouble for Gotham.  The lines are drawn between he and Ryan now, and she's going to have to find a way to take him down.  But before THAT...they have to deal with their OTHER problem that came home to roost:  Mary.  Alice did a WONDERFUL job of manipulating Mary juuuuuust enough to make her feel like she was the weak link and the worthless spoke on the Bat Team wheel.  And when Mary got her night in the vines at Gotham Park...all that frustration, anger, and loneliness from not feeling a part of the team built up into this Ivy persona...which still has some huge tinges of Pamela Isley.  Now with Alice by her side, and Alice knowing she has a powerful ally in her sister now---they plans they have for Gotham are NOT good.  If Alice wanted revenge on her father and Kate for her----she just got it in Mary.  And while we KNOW the REAL Poison Ivy won't be far away---she'll return....once the Bat Team can actually get Mary back to herself---I have a feeling that her time as Ivy will change her in many ways---and her relationships with her friends...and mostly her sister....will be different. She has a better understanding of Alice now, and that will forge their relationship more...whether they know it or not....or LIKE IT or not.

Ryan found out Sophie slept with Renee, and that didn't go over well.  But neither did Ryan hiding her brother's insanity from them.  So, it seems like we've got a tiny lover's quarrel that will HAVE to be put aside for now, as they try to prevent Gotham from going deeper into Hell.  Luke is out of commission, and the Batwing suit is locked up in the Cave.  Sophie is needed on the front lines, and that means working with Ryan more.  So, hopefully, they can air out their differences, and they can get back on track.  Because, trust me, despite her one night stand...Sophie is still attracted to Ryan.

Jada's plan went to crap, and now she has to watch her son go wild with power at his disposal courtesy of Wayne Enterprises.  Will she completely join forces with Ryan to put him down before HE goes off the rails?  It seems like Mother and Daugher...good or bad...will now have to work together to save their own before he destroys the city.  Not quite what I expected when I first saw Jada Jet....but they've sure changed us about her in a hurry.

And, people, I'm gonna say this because I have to:  Nicole Kang absolutely KILLS IT in her Poison Ivy costume.  Ooooooooh MY did she look freakin' stunningly HOT!!!  Amazing!  She's taken to this like a fish to water, and I think she's loving the hell out of it!

What did YOU guys think of this episode?  How do you feel about the Bat Team's chances for turning everything around?  And a combo of Marquis and Mary?  How lethal is THAT going to be?  Subscribe and leave a comment or theory below---it's fun!

DC'S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW 7.7

RECAP - DC'S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW  7.7:  "A Woman's Place Is In the War Effort"

We get some actual history lesson today, as well as a commentary on racism in the days of World War II, as that is where our time travelling team escaped the rogue HAL known as Gideon and the Waverider that's chasing the Legends throughout time, trying to kill them, as per the instructions that Bishop had installed in her reprogramming.  So, while he now realizes that he made a mistake, she's still on point in her mission---protect the timeline.  Bishop managed to escape, but also got sucked into the time stream when the Legends made their last jump.  So, with him in tow, we find out Legends once again having to blend into the time period to accomplish their latest mission...getting the parts needed to fix the time machine that Bishop's toilet damaged in the time jump.

Thankfully for the team, they land near a U.S. military plane manufacturing plant during World War II, where they can see if they can pilfer the parts they need in order to repair the damaged part of the time machine.  So, with the team escaping into the pocket dimension, they map out what they need to get in order to fix the time machine to get home.  Davies stays behind, as does Nate, Zari 2.0, who has returned, and Behrad for the time being, as everyone else heads into the plant to see what they can do to obtain the parts needed to repair the time machine.  Turns out, the factory has "Rosies" who are helping build the planes for the military ("Rosies" meaning women working the factory line, and doing the actual building).  The plant is run by  a man named Mr. Staples, who doesn't have a fondness for the women working on the factory line, and has even LESS regard for Astra and Spooner, who're stuck into the janitorial department because of the color of their skin.  This really doesn't sit well with Astra, who is tired of the racism they've had to endure since landing in 1925.  Spooner tries to assail her issues by saying they can use the janitorial supplies to smuggle the parts they need for her to build the parts needed by Davies to repair the time machine. Meanwhile, Ava and Sara are on the factory line trying to not only help the rest of the Rosies build the plane, but to also smuggle what parts they can to Spooner.

The head of the janitorial department takes a little of a shine to Spooner and Astra, and they have set up a private shop for them to help build things for the war effort.  Spooner is allowed to use it secretly, and manages to get one of the parts built, but they need 18 overall.  Astra tries to figure out how to increase production of the parts to get it done faster.  With Gideon serving as Mr. Staples, and helps them get the approval for the parts they need to increase the production of the parts.  However, Astra is in Staples' office when she gets caught.  He goes to fire her, and she uses her magic powers to freeze him in place.  Gideon and Spooner see what she did, so she secretly begins running the plant herself to increase productivity and get what they need.  She also integrates the staff, using the janitorial staff of black women to help out as well, but a good portion of the staff quits because they're not happy about it.  But everyone steps up, and even gets Behrad involved as he makes meals for the staff, and keeps them motivated.  Things are going well, as not only are they getting the parts they need for the time machine, but the crew is working well in getting the plane built for the military.

Speaking of Behrad for a bit, he and Zari learn that Nate is going to live in the totem with his Zari, and then warn him about their 400 year old uncle, who isn't fond of him.  So, they spend their time trying to teach Nate about Persian customs to prepare him for his life inside the totem, by teaching him using Bishop as an example.  But Bishop...who'd been banned to John's room upstairs, doesn't make it easy on Behrad, who's being taken advantage of by Bishop's demands.  Zari eventually tells him to put his foot down and refuse him.  It seems to work, as Bishop apologizes for being a dick to him, but he also took the time to borrow Zari's cellphone in order to build a device that will help guide the team back to 2021.

As the team and the Rosies finally finish their tasks...the plane completed after a much needed pep talk from Astra herself, and the Legends getting their parts.  They are ready for the plane to be inspected, and just at that time, Mr. Staples awakens, and is extremely pissed at the fact that Astra took over, and for the fact that the women of color are working on the factory floor.  However, Astra had another idea in mind, as she had informed Time Magazine to show up to see the work done by the Rosies, as well as then First Lady, Eleanor Roosevelt.  As the First Lady inspects the factory, and has military brass with her, they look at the finished product, and the ranking General looks upon the plane, and says it's ready to go.  Roosevelt gives props to Staples for not only putting coffee and food on the floor for the ladies to help them keep their energy up, but also integrating the staff.  A pic is taken, and the head janitor gal gives props to Astra for what she did---and Astra thanks HER for the progress SHE made.

Later on, Sara and Ava realize that Astra's move to have Time Magazine and the First Lady there, helped her decide to integrate the factory lines across the country....but it happens two years too soon, thus it will call the Waverider to them.  So, later in the evening, we see that HAL Gideon has arrived, and they're about ready to be destroyed.  Davies has finished the work on the time machine, and uses it to transport himself to the side of the Legends, who're in the factory, under attack from what looks like a SWAT team, firing at them.  Davies grabs Gideon, and Bishop, and they have her put on the device that Bishop designed.  He then gives himself up in order to buy time for the Legends to escape.  With that, the team hits the time machine, and they're off...barely escaping capture.  When we see the SWAT team take off their helmets, it's the Legends....robots apparently created by our HAL Gideon, and they're looking to destroy the Legends.

This wasn't a bad episode, as it really showed Astra's heart, and how personal she's taken the racism that was still an issue in the United States...even during World War II.  But she really rallied everyone, and stepped up when it mattered most to accomplish the mission.  Much like Nate last week, having to take charge of everyone, Astra took her turn to lead this week.  However, the Legends managed to muff history JUST enough to allow them to be caught by the Waverider, and this new robot version of themselves, created by Gideon, that's now on a mission to destroy their counterparts at all costs.  We see that Bishop sacrificed himself for the cause, and allowed them to escape.  Whether or not we hear or see from him again remains to be seen.  But for now, our team escapes, but we have NO idea whereto, even though the makeshift device Bishop made for Gideon (which all the questions he asked about Gideon and her being half human/half computer led to him making the device), should help guide them back to their real time of 2021.  But their destination is unknown at this point, and we'll have to wait until mid-January to find out.

Everyone seems happy for Nate and him and Zari 1.0 advancing their relationship forward.  And with any luck..any of the lessons Zari 2.0 and Behrad taught him will help him when he's in the totem.  It was also interesting that this Zari took a bit to notice that Davies looked somewhat like John.  I don't see much developing there, but it was an interesting note to make.  Oh....and one more note:  anyone catch the "I Love Lucy" nod when Ava was falling behind on the production line?  Nicely done, Jes Macallan.

So...how did everyone ELSE like this episode?  Subscribe and leave a comment below to lemme know YOUR insights into this fall finale.

Until mid-January.....time is on our side.

THE FLASH 8.2

RECAP - THE FLASH  8.2:  "Armageddon Part 2"

Bad enough a new guy with dubious means shows up in Central City as we began Season 8, and make things difficult for Team Flash....but within the first two episodes of this latest season, The Fastest Man Alive already has himself--AND his team--behind the 8-ball.  And it only got MUCH worse this week for Flash especially.  Tried as he might to convince Despero---the new alien being who arrived from 2031 to kill Flash before he became a supervillain and destroyed the city---Despero was keeping eyes on him as the Monarch of Motion had to battle yet a new baddie invading the city this week who could screw with people's minds---and really whammied Flash.

Despero continues to warn Flash this week that there WILL be one thing that will make him break, and when that happens, he'll be there, ready to put an end to the Fastest Man Alive.  We see that Despero sees everything forthcoming in his mind, and is preparing to kill Flash where he stands.  He had warned  Barry that the following day will be the beginning of the end.

Barry and the team are trying to ensure that this reality doesn't happen, as his main concern is always Iris.  Iris ensures him that she's fine and that she can handle herself.  She just wants him to find out how to stop Despero, and prevent this so-called future from happening.  So, they call upon Alex Danvers, and as for her assistance in learning about Despero.  She says that she doesn't know anything about him, but she and the new DEO will conduct some research and get back to them...and tells them to stay safe. Frost has returned, and is somewhat a voice of reason...keeping things real in the sense that they SHOULD prepare for the worst-case scenario.  Also, she pulls Chester aside, and says that he needs to build a weapon capable of killing Despero.  Chester isn't big on the idea, but Frost puts it to him like this:  they have to save Barry at all  costs.

Things for Barry start going bad when he answers a call about a security guard at a bank who went crazy, and ended up shooting at the ceiling before trying to make off with some cash...and then collapsed.  Before Barry can go into CSI mode, Captain Kramer comes up to him, asking for his badge.  Barry is confused as to why, and Kramer says that when Carver had his little Black Hole Gang over a year ago, and had people on his payroll, they somehow believe Barry was one of them.  Barry knows it's not true, and Kramer doesn't either, but he's quickly fired, by having Kramer ask for his badge.  He relents as much as he doesn't want to, but he needs to see the guard to figure out what happened to him.  Despero is keeping eyes on him, and Barry notices.  Cecile says she's going to help Barry fight by filing a lawsuit against the CCPD.

Caitlin then calls Barry, as he's quickly needed at STAR Labs---apparently, there's a radiation leak on the premises, and they're closing the building off, and they'll destroy it.  They can't understand how all this has transpired, and Chester notices that the wiring that supposed to tap into their warning systems is faulty.  Barry tells them to grab what they can, and he'll seal off the inner core, where Team Flash holes up their HQ.  They grab what they can, and Barry goes into the Time Vault, and orders Gideon to wipe any and all records for Team Flash---Gideon says that the only way to ensure that the records are wiped, is if she herself is destroyed---so, Barry says goodbye to his creation, and then she's ultimately erased.  Team Flash leaves their only home, and now regroups at Barry & Iris' loft.  They have to figure out what's going on, and they discover this new villain that whammied the guard is named Zotar, and she's just a thief.  When Flash goes to take her in, she zaps him, and he's instantly back at his loft---where Caitlin as a gun pointed at him, and everyone is saying that Barry came in and trashed the place, trying to kill them.  Barry has zero idea how he got there or what happened.  Caitlin scans him and believes him, but they're a bit concerned about him.  Despero shows up again, and tells his story about someone evil on his planet who tried to take it over, and though he did stop them, that person escaped and took over the planet anyway.  He then made Earth his new home, and said that he swore he'd protect it...and that means killing the Flash as soon as he goes bad.

In Chester's garage, Allegra notices Chester is upset, and he tells her about what Frost wanted to have him do.  He says he's a pacifist because when he was younger, he saw Marvin the Martian build a weapon on TV, so he did it with a friend of his, but ended up burning their house down, and almost killing them.  Allegra says then don't build the weapon.  Find a way to stop Despero and help Barry WITHOUT resorting to lethal force.  They get a notice that Zotar is at it again, and tell Barry about it.

Flash meets her once again, and she gets the better of him again, trying to snap his body like a twig.  Chester doesn't think Flash can stop her without moving to generate kinetic energy to generate lightning.  But it turns out Flash finally finds a way to control all of his molecules to generate the kinetic energy enough to blast Zotar and cuff her before she becomes a bigger threat.  Turns out that when he did that...everyone she whammied returned to normal.  Barry says they should go to Joe & Cecile's for lunch, but they look at him like he's said something inappropriate.  He doesn't get it, and they said Joe died six months ago.  Barry goes home to investigate for himself---and Cecile berates him for not knowing and not "letting go" that Joe died.  Barry sees the folded flag and plaque on the mantle.  Barry had no idea what happened, and is still confused.  Despero shows up again, and says he's seen enough, and blasts Barry.  Cecile powers up and tries to order Despero to leave, but he's not affected by her powers.  He'll kill anyone that gets in his way of his mission.  The distraction is enough to allow Barry to take off.

Alex talks with Team Flash again, and she says she got more info about Despero.  He's Kalanorian, and he's wielding something called the Flame of Pytar.  She tells them to continue being safe as she tries to find a way to help them...but they're not sure about Barry...or what HE will be like when he returns.  We see Barry at the Hall of Justice...confused, upset, and unsure about what's going on.  So, he's looking for help, and he's called up on his old friend Jefferson Pierce.  Jefferson wonders what the big threat is.

These first two episodes have been pretty damn good to start this season off.  They have given us some intrigue, and a mystery about what is going on with Barry, and his downfall...as news reports have shown him turning against the public.  I honestly wonder if Despero is still behind it (because I still feel HE is the villain of the piece), and has warped Barry's reality enough to make him crack.  Joe's death six months prior is still a mystery (How did it happen?!), and why is HE the only one who can't remember it?  I wanted to place that blame on Zotar, but I know Despero can screw with people's minds.  So, what will be the next domino to fall for Barry?  He lost his job, he lost STAR Labs, and he lost Joe....the ONLY thing left to do to send Barry over the edge is losing Iris----and with her condition, it could happen---and it could be the result of Despero.  Barry has already lost his entire family for all intents and purposes, and to lose Iris WOULD be that final straw.

It was good to see Frost back, but for her to ask Chester to get extreme and build a weapon of death goes against his nature, and it's good we see that discussed.  I love that Chester is a pacifist, and we see that Allegra and his friendship has gotten more solid.  It was great to see Alex, and she does help explain why Supergirl and the Martian Manhunter aren't available for this problem as they are "off planet" at this point in time.  So, that frees up Alex to come to the aid of Team Flash.  And now we got Black Lightning back, which is awesome.  Jefferson can be that calming influence and co-leader that Barry needs at this point in time.  A voice of reason, and a hero with experience.

Good to see the writers really begin to understand the scope of Flash's powers.  Now....I'm just hoping that soon, we'll get to see those damn gold boots.

And what have YOU all thought of this crossover so far?  Subscribe to the blog and leave me YOUR thoughts and theories below.

Until next week....keep on running.

BATWOMAN 3.6

RECAP - BATWOMAN  3.6:  "How Does Your Garden Grow?"

"Mary, Mary, quite contrary....how does your garden grow?" as Alice said to her step-sister this week, as we finally saw the consequences of what happened to the dear Dr. Hamilton, as her brief night in Gotham Park thanks to one of Poison Ivy's vines grew bitter fruit in the form of taking over Mary, and having her embrace the Pamela Isley side that's been taking root within her the last couple of weeks.  To make matters WORSE for the Bat Team, is that Montoya is hot to catch this new Ivy character for not only criminal reasons, but personal as well, as we've learned of her past with the late Dr. Isley.  And while the Bat Team has to deal with THIS, Sophie is hot on the trail of the man from the Black Glove Society who had put her sister in the deep freeze...she wants answers, and she KNOWS that Jada Jet was deeply involved.  That's going to bring her and Ryan into serious debate.

This week, Mary's little night she spend in Gotham Park, where she got smothered by Ivy's vines, has caused some crazy little change inside of her...and while she TRIED to tell everyone about it, they've been too preoccupied with their own issues (especially Ryan), to even listen to her.  Alice has noticed the little nuances in Mary's behavior, and she's taken note.  When she noticed the dead vine last week, and put it together with Montoya's obsession with finding Ivy, she also noticed that Mary's clinic got a little more---greener.  When a man is found smothered in a beehive, this brings Montoya's attention to the forefront, and she fears the worst.  While Mary is checking the body, Alice takes notice of what's gone on, and says that Mary is the one responsible for the man's condition.  Mary doesn't buy it until the man wakes up, and says she IS the one responsible.  Later at the Batcave, Mary bursts in and says she has no recollection of where she was during the day.  Searching her phone, they find out she was at a hardware store earlier getting some gardening supplies.  She then cuffs herself to some equipment to ensure she doesn't leave.  Montoya shows up, because she feels she knows Batwoman knows what's going on, and she's not spilling the info.  Her and Ryan hash it out about what she knows---and Montoya is passionate about finding this new Ivy before it's too late.

They also find out that Mary has gotten ahold of the member of the Black Glove Society, and he's been missing.  Batwoman and Alice investigate and find him buried up to his neck in an open field with a bucket over his head.  They bring him back, but Ryan wants to get info out of him, but ensure Sophie doesn't find him, because of her own investigation into what happened to her sister.  While Ryan goes to deal with Sophie (more on that in a bit), Luke and Alice argue about whether or not Ryan would turn Mary in to Montoya, and Luke says Ryan would never do that.  As they continue to bicker, the sun comes in, and Mary knocks Luke out with a keyboard.  Ivy has now taken possession of Mary, and her and Alice bail, once Alice realized that sunlight was Mary's triggger.  Luke is found by Alice, and after Mary called Montoya to meet her at Gotham Botanical Gardens, Batwoman and Batwing follow.  At the botanical gardens, Mary has tried to capture Montoya, but the Bat crew shows up.  Batwoman tries to reason with her, but she's not hearing it, and captures them both with vines.  Montoya helps break them free, as Luke gets the worse of it, as he's pulled on like a Stretch Armstrong doll in the process.  Now, matters are worse.  Luke is injured, and Ryan officially puts him on the shelf from field duty...mostly because when he was in the field, Mary had taken the safety feature out of the suit after Luke had put it back in.  Luke and Ryan commit to helping Mary, and she's called in a favor.  She also makes a plea to Jada for help as well.

Now, the other part of our episode focused on Sophie's mission to find the head member of the Black Glove Society, and find out who ordered him to put her sister and her friends in the deep freeze.  She feels Jada's hands are all over it.  She goes to Montoya for info, and Montoya tells her to let it go...anyone looking into the Black Glove Society doesn't usually survive.  Sophie is determined to get answers.  Ryan and Sophie argue about Jada's involvement, but Ryan tells her to just trust her.  When Sophie inquires why, Ryan refuses to tell her (she doesn't want to bring up her brother's psycho issues).  After the man has been captured by Batwoman, and kept in custody by her, Sophie finds out, and nabs him...looking to get the info out of him one way or another by torturing him with a blowtorch.  She does manage to find out that the Society helps the very affluent with their kids mental issues, and pays a hefty price to keep things quiet and out of public view.  Sophie wants to know more as to WHY her sister almost got killed, and several of her co-workers have.  Batomwan stops Sophie, and they bicker some more.  Sophie says she can't trust her at all, and storms off. At the end of the episode, we see Sophie at the bar drinking her woes, when Montoya shows up, also feeling a mess.  They don't really discuss Ryan, without really discussing Ryan and her moves as of late.  So, they share some drinks, and later on, get hot and heavy in a hallway.

The end of the episode sees Alice and Mary taking off for parts unknown...presumably to go find the buried Pam Isley...who was buried by Bruce quite some time ago...away from sunlight.

This episode saw us see Mary fully embrace her Ivy side, as that dark side finally came to light---and Alice is there to help her embrace it.  Montoya is upset with Batwoman for having kept Mary's secret from her, now matters are worse.  On top of that, Sophie's investigation had Jada Jet written all over it, and that's bringing in her in direct conflict with Ryan, who is trying to keep her brother's mental issues on the downlow for now until she's ready to tell everyone about it.  But Sophie is impatient---not that you can blame her---she wants justice for her sister, who's still recovering.  With Ryan going to Jada for a favor, I wonder what that will be.  And...as for the favor she called in to help Mary---is that Jada, or is that someone else OUTSIDE of Gotham?  Things are getting intense as we get to the midseason finale this next week.

How did YOU all feel for this episode, folks?  Drop me a comment, and lemme know YOUR thoughts below.

Until next time...the Signal is OFF.

DC'S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW 7.6

RECAP - DC'S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW  7.6:  "Deus Ex Latrina"

The Legends look to be on their way back to 2021...so they believe.  As they manage to escape 1925, we find them out in a forest as we began this week's installment, and it didn't take long before things broke down for the team, as Ava and Sara argue, and everyone thinking they're in the Stone Age, and then there's Gwyn Davies---the guy with the time machine---freaked out enough about the time travel, and figuring out that this didn't work quite they way they planned, and that they're stuck where they're at unless they can fix the time machine....but doesn't have the equipment in this time to fix it, therefore, he's given up hope already.  It's at this point where Nate takes the lead, and has everyone assigned tasks, and splits up the Captains in order to let them get it out of their systems, as they go and hunt for things for survival in the woods.  Gary wants to be around when Nate makes his great epiphany about his relationship with Zari, and Nate tells him NOW is not the time, as they need to think about shelter and survival first.

Meanwhile, we finally check in on Bishop, who shows the AvaClone the Waverider he build...thus blowing millions of dollars on the project...and has had Gideon installed aboard.  Everything is monitored by Gideon through onboard cameras, except the bathroom.  Either way, she makes Bishop take the Time Keeper Oath, and therefore, he is now Captain of the ship.  His first goal is to kill the Legends, but Gideon reminds him that his main focus is to preserve the timeline.  Gideon informs him of an anomaly in 1925, and that's where they find the Legends.  They destroy the old Waverider, and Bishop feels that his mission is accomplished----only to have Gideon remind him of yet ANOTHER anomaly in the same year---and he sees that the Legends have survived, and that they killed Hoover.  So, he decides to make a Hoover robot to replace him, take care of the Legends, and be done with it....but it gets further complicated when Edison winds up dead...as well as having to replace the Hoover robot a couple of times.  He's finding this saving the timeline thing rather tedious, and AvaClone is trying to be helpful, and tells Gideon to bug off.  Gideon then goes all H.A.L. aboard the ship, by luring the AvaClone into one of the empty bays on the ship, and says that she's a distraction to Bishop's mission, and therefore, she must go, as Gideon opens up one of the docking bay doors, and sends her off the ship into the time stream.  Bishop soon comes to realize that the Legends were only trying to protect him and give him a chance to be a better person, and avoid being the villain, because all he is doing is making things worse.  Gideon then tells him that they have pinpointed the Legends again, and that he now has a chance to finally destroy them, but Bishop instead heads to the bathroom, and ejects himself off the ship.

Back to the Legends, we see Astra helping Ava work through her issues by getting a little aggression out by chopping wood, saying how she hates leading sometimes, but she would never leave Sara's side.  She does feel better.  As for Sara, her and Spooner hunt, and she vents as well.  Gideon and Gary hunt for berries, and somehow, it turns into something intimate as Gideon offers herself up to Gary for sex.  Nate is busy trying to build shelter, while Zari, Behrad, and Davies trying to fix the time machine, but Davies is tired of B's positivity, and that doesn't sit well with Zari, who goes after him.  But before she goes after him, Nate finally tells Zari that he's had time to think about their situation, and he'd love to live in the totem with her.  After she goes after Davies and tries to give him a piece of her mind, he feels he was supposed to die with this time machine, and that it was his fate.  They don't get too much further in conversation, as they're captured by soldiers who turn out to be Russian.  What Zari and Davies find out is that it's 1986, and they're in Chernobyl...right around the time of the nuclear meltdown.  Davies has a PTSD attack, and Zari calms him down, and he recalls his story about how he lost his unit in 1916 during World War I, and he was a coward because he couldn't save the man he loved, as he clutches his pendant.  Behrad shows up to rescue them, and Davies decides to commit one act of heroism, using his knowledge of Russian to  warn the people within the city and the plant that there will be a nuclear meltdown, and to escape.

As the team has made camp, the trio return to let them know where they're at, and what Davies did.  Ava and Sara tell them about creating more ripples in the timeline, and they have to make their escape before the Waverider shows up.  Just as they pile into the time machine, and Davies activates it, we see Bishop floating down with a parachute as the Waverider is overhead, and the time machine activates, and disappears.

This was a good pause episode, in a sense, as it allowed us to catch up, and see how things got to where they were at....it also gave us some more backstory on Dr. Gwyn Davies, and how and why he created a time machine---which was supposed to be him going back in time and save the man he loved (apparently, ALL the characters Matt Ryan plays seem to either play both sides of the fence, or just one).  But we also know he served in World War I.  We find out the team landed in 1986 Russia...sight of one of the worst events in human history with the meltdown of the Chernobyl plant.  We also witnessed Ava and Sara having their first real fight as a married couple, and it was great to see Nate just step up and take charge of this team, and help get this team back on track, all the while having to cope with HIS own feelings about Zari's request to live with him in the totem.  I was glad to find out that he agreed to it, because if it's ONE relationship I DO NOT want to see wrecked, it's this one.

Why does it NOT surprise me that, because of what Bishop did---resetting her back to her factory settings---that Gideon would go H.A.L. on him and AvaClone, and take over the ship completely, as well as the mission?  AvaClone got exiled into the timeline, and as for Bishop...he realized his hubris was his downfall, and had to escape his own nefarious plan in order to not do what he had originally set out to do:  destroy the Legends.  What makes me wonder now, is what happens now that HE is off the ship, AvaClone is floating through the timestream, that Gideon....now in full control of the Waverider, is going to do?  Is she going to continue her programming and kill the Legends?  Could they get aboard the ship and try to override her programming?  It's going to be interesting to see what happens out from here.

What do YOU all think of this episode?  Did you enjoy the character development?  What do you think Bishop does now?  Will he help the Legends?  And what will a renegade Gideon do with the Waverider?  Drop me your comments and theories below.

Until then.....time is on our side.
