SUPERMAN & LOIS 2.14
RECAP - SUPERMAN & LOIS 2.14: "Worlds War Bizarre"
Zero hour is fast approaching, and Ally is just about ready to merge two worlds together and accomplish her life's goal. We see in this week's penultimate episode to Season 2, that Alison is in this deep void, doing what he has to do in order to merge our worlds' together, and thus eliminating all the people of the normal Earth, and making way for the new order under Ally.
Clark awakens from his attack by Ally, and we find out that his cells took a beating from Allie's power drain. It will take some time for his cells to heal, and be able to absorb solar energy like he used to. He feels helpless, and has John Henry called in to get him to The Fortress of Solitude to see what may be done to help expidite the progress and get Clark healed as quick as possible. But his mother informs him that until the damage done to his cells have healed, he's helpless. There is no quick fix. John Henry and Nat are prepared to help, and Jordan is also told to keep his ears open for any danger, and protect their dad. Sam shows up to lend a hand, and they notice that the red sun of the Bizarro World is now in Earth's space. John Henry and Nat discover that Allie's actions have given their Earth 12 hours before the merge is fully in effect, and those effected will die. And with the Bizarro world now entering Earth space, all technology is going haywire, which is why the cell phones are freaking out, and even the computers at the paper, where Chrissy is trying to write her article about what's really going on are freaking out. Meanwhile, Bizarro Lana tries to make her move on killing Clark, but Jordan tries to hold her off. John Henry and Nat arrive to drive her off, but we know she isn't finished.
Lana is preparing for a town hall meeting at the high school, as Lois has filled her in on all of Allie's actions. She also informs her that Superman will NOT be showing up, because he's down for the count. Lana then holds court at the high school to let the town know what's up, but they're scared and up in arms. The former mayor tries to play off their fear to show them that Lana is incapable of leading. Meanwhile, Clark is at home, feeling down and helpless, not knowing what to do. Lois tells him that---powers or not---he's still Superman, because he inspires HOPE. So, Superman shows up at the town hall meeting to back Lana up. That's enough for the townsfolk to believe him. However, things don't go smoothly, as Lana catches up with Sarah, as she's talking to Jordan, who is trying to tell her about what's going on. But as Lana catches up with Sarah, Bizarro Lana has made it to the campus, and is looking to kill her and Sarah. Jordan's eyes heat up, and tells them to go. Lana grabs her daughter, both in shock, and make a run for it. Bizarro Lana and Jordan begin to fight around the school. Bizarro Jon shows up to attack Superman,
While the fighting at the school is going down, John Henry and Nat power up the suits, but he shuts hers down, and says he's heading into the void on his own to stop Allie. She needs to stay behind to protect everyone if he fails. So, he takes off, and she's able to keep contact with him until he's in the void. Once there, he tries to use a missle to destroy Allie, and all it does is make her dissipate...but then reform. He gets blasted, and he's travelling through the void unconscious. With no way to track her dad, Nat is upset until the A.I. informs her that there is an alien presence at the high school, and she needs to suit up to get there. At the school, Jordan has fought down Bizarro Lana, only to have to face his brother's doppleganger, getting into a heat-vision battle. Just as the odds are stacked against them, Nat shows up, and she and Jordan take the two Bizarros down. They're taken into custody, and Nat is upset because she can't track her dad, and she thinks he's gone forever. But the Kents promise her that they'll get her dad back...but she's welcome to be with them until he comes back.
Meanwhile, as Lana has been struggling with Clark's secret, and now having seen Jordan use HIS powers to protect them, it makes Sarah upset that Lana didn't tell her to begin with, because Sarah knew she could handle it. Just as Lana was about to tell Sarah the whole truth, everything starts changing around them...switching between their own home and that of the Bizarro version of their home. This is starting to happen everywhere, as we see it happen to the Kent Farm....with Clark recognizing the Kent home of the Bizarro World.
This is probably THE best episode of the season, as it shows Lana struggling with Clark's secret...now knowing what it's been like for HIM all these years, and then having Jordan save both of them, and seeing her doppleganger come in to try to kill them. We also see that---while he still has doubt about his abilities---Jordan steps up when Sarah and Lana are in danger, and when he hears his mother cry out when Bizarro Jon is about to kill Superman. And Nat---despite feeling lost without her dad, steps up herself to team with Jordan to take the Bizarros down. Everyone is bringing their A game this episode, including Kyle---despite their differences, and the fact that he's learned the hard way about secrets, continues to be a stabilizing force to Lana in her time of need.
We also see Lois show Clark that Superman is more than just a suit and Kryptonian powers---she tells him what REALLY makes him Super---his ability to provide hope to a world in desperate need of it. And, when Lana needs help getting the message to the townsfolk---he again proves that just his WORDS alone give the town hope that things will get better. Despite his own doubts, Clark answers the call when needed. It's one of the truly admirable things about Superman that makes us love him as a hero---he is the purest form of it---in every way. Powers or not, he continues to inspire others that there is always hope for a better life in this world.
All in all, I'm looking forward to the season finale, and what surprises it may bring. What did YOU all think of this episode? Subscribe and drop a comment below. Season finale coming up, so strap in, and let's see how Superman and his family survive this epic threat.
Until next time....Up, up and away!

THE FLASH 8.18
RECAP - THE FLASH 8.18: "The Man in the Yellow Tie"
With Season 8 winding down, we're seeing some interesting plots beginning to form, and our major, final arc coming into focus. Flash has met a new speedster in town: Dr. Meena Dhawan, the head of Fast Track Labs, as she's been trying to get a handle on her artificial speed. Flash has taken it upon himself to train her to control her powers. It also seems that Mark has had a change of heart in regards to bringing Frost back, but he needs Caitlin, who bailed her apartment to stay with her mother Carla. And Cecile is discovering that---much like Barry---she's "leveled up" her powers...and she likes it! And we get a couple of guest appearances that fill in some details about a couple of elements for our story---especially when it comes to Eobard Thawne AND one guy we've been wondering about HIS future as he's wandered from Arrowverse show to Arrowverse show: John Diggle. Lots of interesting things to unpack in this latest episode of our Scarlet Speedster.
First and foremost: Flash and Meena. Flash has tried to help Meena gain better control of her powers. She's coming along fine, and when Flash tells her to keep up, she gets frustrated when she's running, and thus ends up shooting a lightning bolt at Flash, knocking him down. It's somehow effected his powers, because he's never felt that sensation when he's encountered artificial speed. So, the team suggests he check out Meena's set up at Fast Track Labs. As he does, he meets her assistant who helped her get the machine built that helped grant her speed: Eobard Thawne. This shocks Barry, as he can't believe what he's seeing. This Eobard, however, has no prior knowledge of his life as the Reverse-Flash, as he has suffered amnesia on his way to this time. As Meena steps away, Barry lays into him, telling him who he is, and wondering how he got here. He asks Chester to check on the real Thawne, and then he takes off...vowing to figure out how he escaped, and how he's wearing his original face again. We see in flashbacks how Thawne got to 2022, and how he meet Meena, looking for work. She wasn't impressed with him, but he ended up solving her problem about gaining super-speed, and thus built the machine.
Back on Lian Yu, Barry visits Thawne, wondering how he got his speed back. Thawne is adamant that he's been stuck in his cell because Barry took all his speed. Barry tells him about another version of him with his old face. He shows Thawne the chamber that his other self and Meena built, and Thawne says that is the chamber HE built centuries from now in order to become like the Flash. Barry realizes that the machine didn't create artificial speed for Meena...she's tapped into the Negative Speed Force, and the more she uses it, the more it will corrupt her. And Eobard tells Barry that no matter the timeline or universe, Thawnes will always do what they have to in order to get what they want.
Flash races back to Central City, and warns Meena and Thawne to NOT use the chamber, because it will tap into the Negative Speed Force. Meena doesn't understand, so Flash reveals to her that Eobard Thawne is his old enemy, the Reverse-Flash. This Thawne denies it, has no memory of it, and the face that they're arguing puts Meena in the position to use the chamber regardless. She taps into the Negative Speed Force, and blasts Flash and Thawne...then takes off in search of even MORE power---by draining electrical energy wherever she can. When both Flash and Thawne wake up, he tells her that Meena has a heart condition, and that he put her in the chamber in order to save her life. By this time, Flash realizes that this is the Eobard Thawne from Flashpoint. He has Chester ask the Legends about him, as this Thawne just wants to save her life---because he loves her. Flash is convinced and they agree to help her out. So, the only place Meena can draw massive amounts of power from is Keystone Dam. As she heads there, Team Flash with Thawne, and Flash himself race out to confront her. He battles her for a bit, and nearly avoids a Negative Speed Force blast, but he's hit anyway. It nullifies his speed, and Eobard then has to try and talk her down....let her know that killing the Flash is NOT her destiny. She manages to come back to her own self and the threat is over. Flash then gives her his watch that monitored his speed, and it will help Meena monitor hers, and her connection to the Negative Speed Force. As long as she has this Eobard as a beacon, she'll be okay. Afterwards, Ray Palmer is in touch with the team, informing them of what happened to the Thawne from Flashpoint. He was killed by the Black Flash, but somehow brought back by the Time Keepers to watch over the timeline. But when the Legends ran into him on their way home, he was killed. Ray believes this Eobard got a second chance after serving his penance, and trying to protect time.
As for the OG Thawne, after Barry left, Diggle pays him a visit, looking for his scientific genius to help him figure out how to open the box that has the power ring in it. It hasn't opened for him, and he's tried every avenue (as seen in flashbacks), but to no avail. He hears voices calling out to him, and Thawne believes a greater voice is beckoning him. He tells John to focus on what he wants, and Diggle does...and he sees the universe...the voices calling out to him. The power so great. It allows him to finally open the box and see the green glow. Now, Thawne had a deal with him: if John got the box open, he got to see what was inside. Thawne told him of all the power he could have, the worlds he could have.....but this whole journey that started with him when Oliver died has taken him all over---and away from his family. John's marriage has suffered because of it. So, he relents the power, and tosses the box away, and it disappears. Thawne is upset that he did that, knowing that the box could hold the key to him escaping and having power again. But Diggle says that there is no power greater than that of his family, and he leaves, calling Lyla as he does, letting her know he's coming home. As for Thawne...who reminisces about having changed the timeline in his favor, only to have it snatched from him by Barry...seethes. It's then that Dion shows up, telling him that he's ready to fulfill his destiny.
Outside of THOSE plots...we had something new happen to Cecile this week, as she was at the bank, when robbers came in looking to loot the place. She ended up using her powers in new ways, as she managed to take full control of people's minds, and force them to give up. Once the robbery was stopped, she had herself checked out, and Chester told her that her powers leveled up. She says she feels fine, but Barry wants more tests done....he's got his suspicions. Towards the end of the episode, we see a woman being attacked by a mugger...only for Cecile to show up and confront him...using her powers to incapacitate him. He takes off, and Cecile is pleased to have saved a life....as she leaves, we see that SOMEONE is watching her.
And in one final tidbit from this episode, Mark Blaine returns to Catilin's apartment, talking to her as she's with her mom Carla, trying to get over the loss of her sister. Mark, however, wants her to come back, as he's found a way to bring Frost back. She says it's not possible because Barry destroyed her work. But Mark shows her the Chamber....one that looks like the one Eobard built at Fast Track Labs.
It was great getting some flashbacks today from various characters---Eobard, Flashpoint Thawne, Diggle, and Ray, which helped us all catch up on events that led to this point. For Diggle...we got teased YET AGAIN about him becoming Green Lantern...only for him to throw the box away...but then it disappears. Was this the last shot at us EVER seeing Diggle put on the ring, and fulfill his destiny?! It looks like it. I HOPE this means that they'll pull the trigger on Hal Jordan. Enough was enough with the tease about GL...producers have pissed us off enough about this. Either make it happen or NOT---it's been nearly 3 years...do something, or bury the idea altogether.
I don't know how Flashpoint Thawne is going to be able to co-exist with OG Thawne once the OG gets his speed back. You know it's going to happen, and Dion is going to help him, because THAT bastard has gone rogue, and is now looking to ensure The Flash suffers apparently. What happens next is going to be interesting in the next couple of episodes. And where does Iris fit into all this? You know, Eric Wallace...the woman that has stood steadfast by Barry all these years?! The woman you've literally pushed to the side all season long? It's been SHAMEFUL how Candice Patton has been treated this season. Iris is practically the CORE of this show next to Barry. The show LACKS without her to help inspire and drive Barry forward. If there's ONE thing that's pissed me off about Season 8----it's been the mishandling of Iris West-Allen.
Mark looks like he has a plan to nab Meena's chamber in order to bring back Frost, but does that bring back Caitlin before the season finale? This has been a subplot for a couple of episodes, so VERY interested to see what happens.
Cecile's powers getting an upgrade. Last year it was Barry himself, and Allegra. Now, Cecile? What's in the water in Central City?! But I wonder at what price Cecile's upgrades come with? And just WHO was watching her from afar as she played hero at the end of the episode?
Meena still remains a little bit of a wild card, what with he connection to the Negative Speed Force. I hope she keeps true to her convictions, and uses her powers for good. Flash looks like he'll need all the help he can get. But one thing STILL bugs the hell outta me: WHERE THE HELL IS WALLY?! I get he's been doing his Zen thing....but at THIS critical a time, Barry NEEDS Wally now more than ever...especially with Iris sick. These are little things that have irked me with Wallace's running of the show. And when Frost died...and Caitlin was going off the ledge...THAT would've been a good time to have the Cisco appearance to help out. Just soooo many little things that could make these plot points and stories BETTER, but they're dropping the ball here. I just know the last two episodes BETTER bring their A game to please me. Last year disappointed me to NO END, and they need a strong finish.

Until next time....keep on running.

THE FLASH 8.17
RECAP - THE FLASH 8.17: "Keep It Dark"
Things keep moving forward towards the 8th season finale for our Scarlet Speedster. In this episode, we see Flash chasing after a new speedster, who seems to have stolen some important tech from Ivo Labs, and Allegra and Chuck have their hands full, as Allegra tries to help her friend get away from her former gang, who're now trying to threaten the city....but do in a way as to protect her criminal past, as well as her being a superhero.
For the Monarch of Motion, this episode was having him racing around town on patrol, when Chester gives him the call about a fire and theft at Ivo Labs. When he gets there, he sees what looks like someone charred a lab there, and a major piece of equipment was stolen. He spends the episode trying to track down the new speedster, but it takes him off the grid for a day or so...as he needs some help from a least likely individual: Eobard Thawne. So, Flash races out to Lian Yu, where Thawne, powerless, has been nicely tucked away, serving his time. He's gimping around a little bit slower, since his powers were taken away---a point he keeps making to Barry time and again. Barry tells him about a new speedster in town, and he's having trouble locating them. Thawne sees this as an opportunity to tease and taunt Barry as usual, calling him dumb and whatnot. At first, Barry had assumed that Thawne somehow managed to break free, get his powers back, and break into Ivo Labs for the piece of tech, but he can't. Barry does end up coercing the info out of Thawne by taunting him back---turns out, the new speedster is just learning about their powers...and doesn't know how to control them. That's all Barry needed, and he's off to face this new speedster...as he realizes that the fire was an accident. However, as he leaves, we see a little evil grin out of Thawne---like he knows something we don't. Flash eventually heads back to Ivo Labs where the scene of the crime is, and we see the other speedster race in, and Flash faces them head on. The other speedster tries to escape, but Flash is just too fast. When they're caught, and know they can't outrace the Fastest Man Alive, they reveal themselves to be Dr. Meena Dhawan---who wrote several books about speed, and started up Fast Track Labs, which was going to be a story Iris was going to write about before she vanished. She said that she was inspired by the Flash, but she says he only borrowed the equipment from Ivo Labs, and was returning it. She's new to these powers, and got them, so she could help people. Flash offers to help her learn how to use her powers and control them.
For Allegra, she's running things at CC Media while Iris is gone, and she's still has to deal with Taylor, who's been pissed off at her since they had their argument about a story a few months back. Taylor wants to investigate the heroes that help the Flash, and learn more about the team, and while she DID approach Iris with that story, Iris said to hold off on it, and then she'll consider it. Allegra holds up Iris' mandate, but Taylor isn't going to be satisfied. Allegra ends up meeting with her friend Lydia whom she helped out awhile back by writing a story about her as a former inmate at Iron Heights who got a second chance. Lydia is panicked because the Arañas...who are now being led by Dr. Light and Sunshine, are going after anyone that's a former member of the gang, who can expose their illegal activities. Lydia is looking to skip town before they destroy her chance at her new life. Allegra says she can protect her, but they need to bring the activities of the gang to light, and Lydia agrees to do an interview on CCMedia, but it'll be done with a voice modulator and she'll be shot in the dark, to keep her identity secret. But before they can do that, one of the gang members has recorded the conversation between Lydia and Allegra, and by the time Allegra and Lydia are ready to do the interview, Dr. Light and Sunshine show up and try to capture Lydia. Chuck manages to whip up some tech to put up a force field around the office in order to find a way to protect Lydia before they kill her. But the shield will only last so long, and there's no way out. Taylor, and the other members of the writing staff, are upset with Allegra, and want to know how all this is going down.
As much as Allegra tries to hide her secret, Taylor exposes Allegra's past as a member of the Arañas, and threatens to expose her, and would rather feed Lydia to the gang in order to save themselves. Lydia agrees to give herself up, but Allegra refuses. She finally comes to terms with the fact that she can no longer hide her past....nor her powers. But before she does, she tells Chuck about how she is not a leader, and how she screwed up a plan years ago that got her busted, and nearly killed her team because of her mistake. Chuck assures her that she can do this. So, when Light and Sunshine manage to break the barrier, Chuck takes Lydia, and she agrees to do the interview---but as herself, and not hide anymore. Allegra does what she can to protect everyone in the office, by fighting Light and Sunshine, and using her Ultraviolet powers to be able to hold them off just long enough for Lydia to make her broadcast public. With the group now exposed, Allegra orders them to leave...or they'll be trouble down the road. Light and Sunshine say it isn't over, but Allegra and Lydia feel good that they put a dent in the gang's plans. Taylor and the other writers also commend Allegra on her bravery, and why she did what she did. She still wants to know who the other members of Team Flash are, but for now, she was wrong about Allegra, and they make peace. Later, at STAR Labs, Allegra and Chuck fill Barry in on what happened, and he commends them on a job well done. They then get a message from Caitlin, who said she's had to do some thinking, especially in the wake of what Barry did to her work the other night. She says that she's going to go spend time with her mother Carla, and that she's NOT coming back to Team Flash anytime soon. But she tells them to take care of themselves.
This episode showed us about how keeping a past a secret can eat you up...and make trouble for not only yourself, but others. Allegra has tried SO hard to bury her criminal past, but it came back to bite her in this episode. It was good, however, to see more character development for her, and step up when needed. She showed us WHY Iris chose her to be her editor---and that she CAN lead when given the chance. And while her past is now exposed to her staff, they actually respect her more now, and it seems like her and Taylor have made some peace with each other. However, Taylor is still got the bug for the Team Flash story, so I'm not sure how long either Allegra OR Iris can keep her from that story before she wants to go public with it. We also got to see two Rogues reappear with new agendas in Dr. Light and Sunshine. And Lydia...whom we met a few episodes back, finally got to finish HER story in a great way. So, for a mostly Allegra centric episode, it wasn't bad.
For Barry this week, we got to see him interact with Eobard once again....as we know THEIR story is FAR from finished. And while Barry managed to get some answers out of Thawne in regards to this new speedster, it seems that Thawne's little smirk after Barry left gave us something to ponder, as maybe he KNOWS something that Barry doesn't---and that's going to spell trouble down the road for The Flash. We also got to meet Meena Dhawan...scientist and head of Fast Track Labs. It appears SHE is our new speedster, and Flash has offered to train her---but will this be a good thing or bad thing? There have been speedsters that have burned Flash before like Thawne and Hunter Zolomon...and even a version of himself as Savitar. So, not sure about what the long-term outlook is for Dr. Dhawan, but it will be interesting to see how this final arc plays out.
And...as I had mentioned previously...Caitlin is bailing Team Flash in the wake of losing Frost and Barry destroying her work to clone Frost back. I had seen the departure of Caitlin Snow coming for awhile, and with Danielle Panabaker's 2nd pregnancy in full swing, it seemed like the right time to write Caitlin off the show. I am not sure if Panabaker will be back in a full-time role for Season 9...i doubt it...but I DO see her directing an episode or two. But with Frost dead, Cisco gone in Star City (his absence for the whole Frost funeral REALLY hasn't sat well with me, considering the close friendship he, Barry, and Caitlin have had), but Caitlin had no more plot points at this juncture, and taking her off the team seemed like the logical end to her story...for now.
This was not a bad filler episode, and it puts into place the elements needed for the final arc. But, however, the thing that has disappointed me most is that Eric Wallace has taken a major character---Iris---and has literally pushed her to the sidelines this season. The one main character besides Flash that you can ill afford to minimalize---is Iris West-Allen. And that's ANOTHER thing that's irked me. So, I'm hoping that this situation changes in Season 9. You CANNOT have The Flash without Iris West-Allen. It's than damn simple.
What did all of YOU think of this episode? Did you enjoy Allegra's story? What did you think of Dr. Meena Dhawan? And do you think there's more to Barry and Thawne's little chat? Are you surprised at Caitlin's exit? Subscribe and leave a comment below.
Until next time....keep on running!

SUPERMAN & LOIS 2.13
RECAP - SUPERMAN & LOIS 2.13: "All Is Lost"
Things are reaching critical mass for Earth, as Ally Alston is putting her final plan into production, and with the pendant destroyed, you'd think that her plan wouldn't be able to happen. However, she's got an ace up her sleeve, and she's going to find a way to exploit it. Meanwhile, the Kents do what they can to give the Cushings space, and Lois and General Lane go looking for Lucy, with Chrissy's help.
We get a good chunk of the past in regards to Lucy, as we see how she meets Ally, and how Ally is able to convince her that she has worth, when Lucy has felt that Lois has always hated her, and tried to control her in the wake of their mother leaving. This was Ally's entry way into getting Lucy over into her cult. In present day, Lucy is still steadfast by Ally, even though many others have decided to bail, thinking Ally won't return. But she ends up doing a broadcast not only on our Earth, but on Bizarro World, as she talks about her time of merging everything into one world---which causes concern for Bizarro Lois. Ally does return, and she says that it's about time for them to initiate her final plan.
Lois forbids Clark from heading into Bizarro World to save anyone, because he was gone for a virtual month when he disappeared the first time, and he needs to inform the boys about Lana's decision to have the Kents stay away from her and her family for now. They boys don't like it, and Jordan wants to talk to Lana, but Clark says no, and to respect their space. Meanwhile, Lois heads to the paper to work with Chrissy on finding Lucy and Ally. Sam shows up, and says he's got an idea. They all head into the woods to find her, and to get her out before Ally's plan bears fruit. Once up there, both Sam and Lois try to convince Lucy that they love her, and that they want her home, but she keeps blowing them off. Sam eventually cuffs her to him, refusing to let her go until she hears them out. Eventually, some of Ally's followers get ahold of Lois and Sam, and find the communicator that contacts Superman. Lucy has it, and when Ally returns, she wants Lois and Sam to contact Superman, but they refuse. Lucy says she'll do it, not knowing just what really is at stake. With Sam refusing to contact the Man of Steel, Ally starts draining his life force....forcing Lois and Lucy to have to watch their Dad begin to die.
Clark finally has his sit down with Jon, and smooths things over with him. Clark tells Jon that they all make mistakes, but it's what they do to make up for said mistakes that defines character. He loves his son, and it's hard for him as a parent to let his boys make mistakes on their own. And despite everyone hating Jon right now, Clark promises that it will get better. Jon then tells him that Jordan defied him, in order to talk to Lana. When Jordan arrives at her office, he tries to reason with her in letting him talk to Sarah and explain things, but she refuses. She says that she hates lying to her kids about what she now knows about him and Clark. And while he says that he loves her, Lana feels that if the DOES love her, he'll stay away from her....to keep her safe. Jordan is dejected when Clark finds him in town, and Clark says there's a way to help him forget Sarah...if only for a little while: They head up to the Fortress where Clark did his training, and begins training Jordan on how to fly. Jordan starts to get the hang of it, but his dad has to catch him when he begins to fall. They head back home, where they left Jon all on his own. It's then that they hear the signal, and Clark flies off....knowing Sam is in danger.
Lana, after her row with Jordan, feels like she's just making the wrong moves lately. She didn't want to blow up at Jordan, but she did. And, on top of that, she's NOT pleased with Kyle about having taken Sarah to the bar Tonya used to work at for Open Mic Night. Kyle admits his mistake, and just wants to have a family dinner to talk about it---nothing special, just a dinner. She agrees, and the family convenes, and they are pleased that Sarah's singing and writing songs, but choose to find better venues for her to perform.
As for John Henry and Natalie, John's been frustrated about trying to amp up the suit, when he finds another energy source....Natalie's suit. He's pissed off that she built one, because she wants to contribute and help out...and not sit on the sidelines anymore. He orders her to tear it down, but she refuses, saying she BUILDS things...not destroy them. So, John Henry TRIES to take it apart, but can't succeed. They have a heart-to-heart of their own, and John Henry realizes that they're in this position because of her genius and help. It's then they get an alert: Superman is in trouble, and they both suit up to race off help him.
All roads lead up to the woods, as Ally has hurt Sam badly, forcing Lucy to watch what's happened to him, as she and Lois race over to their father. Superman does show up, and he tries to fend off Ally, but he plays right into her hands, as she begins to drain his powers and life from him. He fights her off as much as possible, protecting Sam, Lois, and Lucy from her. But he's weakened and in bad shape by the time John Henry and Natalie arrive to fend Ally off. They both race Superman and Sam to the hospital. Lucy won't leave her father's side, and she feels sorry about what happened. Sam tells her it will be okay, and that she never had to worry about being loved. She and Lois were the best things that happened to him. As for Superman, Lois is by his side. He's alive, but he's extremely weak...and powerless. Clark will survive, but his cells are normal....if he were human. So, with Superman on the sidelines, everyone is going to need to step up. That includes Jordan, Natalie, and John Henry.
Ally talks to Bizarro Lana, and wants her to finish Superman off with him now weakened, while she begins the merge.
Mistakes and learning from them are one of the central themes of this week's installment. Clark dealing with the fallout of telling Lana his secret, and losing her as a friend, Jordan being forbidden from seeing Sarah, Jon finally knowing that his dad doesn't hate him, though the school does, and Sam and Lois trying hard to get Lucy back, knowing their efforts might've been done in error. As for Lucy---she finally sees just how manipulative and insane Ally is---and what Ally was willing to do in order to get Superman: kill her father. Hopefully, this will serve as a wake-up call to her, and have her realize that her big sister and dad have ALWAYS had her back...if she'd just let them. John Henry realizes that his daughter is not a shrinking violet, and that she's FAR more capable and useful than he gave her credit for. As for the Cushings, Kyle is quick to own his mistake about Sarah performing in the bar, but it's a minor issue. Lana is terribly conflicted right now. She wants to protect her family from any super threats, but she's also pushing away her best friends because she's felt betrayed. And lashing out at Jordan...it was--admittedly--a bitch move by her. She sees Jordan's ache in his heart, but still forbids him to see Sarah. I understand her intentions, but she still laid into him awfully hard. And after he left completely dejected, she felt like a heel---as she should. She wants to protect the girls, but she also knows that being a friend of Clark Kent means being associated with Superman. Is she ready to come to terms with that? And I wonder that, if and when this Super team can stop Ally....will the danger of Superman being too close to Smallville force Lana to have the Kents pack up and move to spare the town any more threats? It's something that's been on the back of my mind, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if that happens. And will Sarah find out about Jordan? And will Kyle finally get clued in as to what's going on? And will Lucy FINALLY reunite with her family, and move forward? All we can do is wait for the final few episodes to play out.
The tension has been very well heightened this season, and lots of great questions both asked an answered along the way. Going to be VERY interesting to see how it all plays out.
